According to the types of synthetic monomers, acrylic fibers could be divided in to homopolymers and copolymers. The homopolymer acrylic has the structure of polymerization of a single monomer, with the spatial of spiral rod structure, and quasicrystalline in crystalline structure. There is a -cn group on the side of the molecule, and the dipole or hydrogen bonding between the molecules makes it difficult to slip,and the homopolymer is inflexibility.
The copolymer a crylicis combined with the second and third monomers embedded in the polyacrylonitrile macromolecule, which destroys the helical structure, makes it dislocation,bending, twisting and others, which affects the continuity of the crystal along the axis of the macromolecule. This makes the structure becomes soft, and the fiber is strong and stretchable.
However, the maximum working temperature of homopolymer is 130°C, and the instantaneous working temperature < 140°C. The maximum temperature of copolymer is 120°C, and it is not resistant to hydrolysis, that’s why our Acrylic filter fabric are made out by 100% homopolymer acrylic fibers.
