Acrylic baghouse filter bags are more economical than other technical fabrics on the market. They do not shrink in low-temperature environments where continuous operating temperatures are up to 260°F (125°C) with temperature surges of up to 300°F (150°C). The fibers offer moderate chemical resistance but very good tensile strength. Since acrylic offers excellent hydrolysis resistance, it works well in humid baghouse conditions with mild chemical attacks.

Hydrolysis is a chemical reaction between a chemical and water. In baghouse filtration, a reaction occurs when moisture enters the environment. When the fibers have poor hydrolysis resistance, moisture or water can break down the fibers of the fabric, causing the filter bags to clog and eventually the filter bags to fail prematurely due to holes. When moisture or moisture is present in a baghouse filter, filter media with excellent resistance to hydrolysis is required.
